We seek a highly skilled and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) House Lead to join our team in Whittier, CA.

About the Role

The DSP House Lead will be responsible for supporting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. This includes assisting with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs, as well as redirecting behaviors through various activities such as walking, reading, games, and computer projects.

This is an adult residential home where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Daily Routines: Create and prepare daily routine(s) for clients based on Individual Program Plan requirements.
  • Support Client Needs and Goals: Participate in the development of IPP/ISP goals and support clients in achieving them.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
  • Provide Transportation and Accompaniment: Transport clients to visit family and friends, preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encourage socialization among peers.
  • Assist with Personal Care: Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
  • Prepare Meals and Clean-up: Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
  • Report Incidents and Communicate with Administrators: Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications: Must have DSP 1 and 2, CPR, FIRST AID, High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors and 1 year supervising experience.
  • Driving Requirements: Must have a valid in-state driver's license, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
