Dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for Acute Care

At Charlotte Hungerford, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in an acute care setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities, including speech, language, and cognitive functions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' needs, goals, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and disease management.
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC certification required).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care settings, preferably in hospital-based rehabilitation programs.
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
- FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) certification.
- Experience working with patients with complex medical conditions, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and dementia.
- Competitive salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
