Job Title: Crane Operator

We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team at Reeves Construction Company in Greenwood, SC. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety excellence and a proven track record of operating cranes in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate cranes to lift and move materials and other objects, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Pour concrete, drive piling, and set girders, as well as perform hook work for moving materials.
  • Plan all lifts and take charge of all safety aspects related to crane assembly, disassembly, operation, and capacity charts.
  • Perform rigging inspections and daily equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Respond to hand and verbal commands from riggers or helpers, and observe the travel of all loads to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' related work experience.
  • NCCOO Certification (required).
  • Valid Driver's License (required).
  • Construction experience and ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely, and meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
  • Acceptable safety record and commitment to working safely, as well as compliance with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Good work ethic, professional attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently stands and walks, and occasionally sits. The employee must be able to work off the ground and elevated heights, and lift and manipulate objects up to 80 lbs for 50 feet.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud.
