About the RoleAs a Clinical Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations and activities of professional nursing and nursing support staff on assigned units. You will oversee the successful delivery of quality patient care, service excellence, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Nurse Manager to ensure alignment with the System/nursing strategic plan.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels and skill mix based on census and acuity.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, National Patient Safety Goals, and agency and state regulations.
- Develop and implement nursing standards of care based on EBP and nursing research.
- Use outcome-driven data and Nursing Sensitive Indicators to drive and improve care.
- Analyze Patient Experience data to identify areas for improvement and work within the unit SDM structure to reach targets.
- Facilitate and support safe, quality care at the bedside by providing exemplary direct patient care.
- Actively facilitate the performance appraisal process, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance and promote accountability.
- Partner with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, and unit-based committees to ensure appropriate orientation, competency, and ability of all staff to provide safe, competent care.
- Serve as a resource and positive role model/mentor to all staff, supporting and promoting SDM and encouraging staff participation in shared decision-making.
- Collaborate with the care team to adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Actively participate in the growth and professional development of all staff by encouraging and supporting advancement through the clinical ladder, specialty certifications, and continuing education.
- Ensure the care provided is consistent with the mission and goals of the system, meeting or exceeding quality outcomes and regulatory and financial goals.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and address operational problems and other barriers impeding care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- 2 years of relevant experience, including Charge Nurse experience and Registered Nurse II and above.
- Licensed Registered Nurse upon hire, with Basic Life Support certification and ACLS certification where applicable.
- Specialty certification when eligible.
