Roadway Engineer (EIT / PE) - TxDOT Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design

We're seeking a skilled Roadway Engineer to join our growing Roadway / Transportation group based out of our Tyler, TX office. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 3 years of civil engineering experience with a focus in roadway / transportation in the consulting industry and/or experience working with, or for, public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop roadway design projects for Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) and Schematic Design
  • Collaborate with other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways
  • Manage multiple transportation projects and tasks in support of business needs
  • Assist in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff
  • Contribute to business development activities
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Review transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in Roadway / Transportation Engineering
  • Microstation experience; Geopak/OpenRoads 3D is a plus
  • DOT experience (as an DOT employee or consultant) is a preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas, or able and willing to obtain within 1 year of start date
  • Ability to manage project tasks
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
