Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant in our Pediatrics High Risk Clinic plays a vital role within the clinical team, contributing to the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

Our dedicated team cares for children facing the most complex health challenges at the UT Physicians High Risk Children's Clinic, utilizing advanced technology and techniques to ensure optimal care for these vulnerable patients.

Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in activities that promote high-quality patient care and customer satisfaction.

- Actively participate in the planning and preparation for patient visits, ensuring that all necessary schedules, test results, and clinic-specific requirements are met.

- Room patients according to clinic protocols, documenting chief complaints, vital signs, medication lists, allergies, smoking history, and other pertinent information.

- Conduct necessary tests, including hearing and vision assessments, EKGs, spirometry, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection, as validated by competency.

- Maintain and prepare examination rooms and clinic supplies, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient visits.

- Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals, while performing routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.

- Manage telephone messaging and in-person screenings with appropriate follow-up.


Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or one year of relevant experience may substitute for the training program requirement.
