Mechanical Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Intern to join our Maintenance Team at Tehachapi Cement. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in mechanical engineering or maintenance of heavy machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for researching equipment drawings and manuals to develop Material Request Forms (MRFs) in SAP, a software that organizes the plant's Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with Maintenance Planners, Coordinators, and others to prioritize work activities.
- Search Plant Equipment files to find spare parts listings to identify undocumented parts.
- Review findings with Senior Planners to develop lists of needed components in SAP.
- Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain quotes for equipment.
- Conduct field walks on the plant to verify equipment field data and parts.
- Utilize vendor quotes to create MRFs to assist in creating new SAP components.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Ability to read and understand equipment drawings and BOMs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
