Job Title: Front Office Representative

At Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Office Representative to join our team at our Southside Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

Job Summary:

The Front Office Representative will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service while ensuring the efficient and productive operation of the front office. This includes patient reception, scheduling, collecting patient demographics and insurance information, and collecting patient payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promptly greet and acknowledge patients, informing MAs and Providers of patient arrival through CPS.
  • Instruct patients in completing medical history and patient information forms, making necessary corrections to patient accounts.
  • Obtain accurate and complete demographic and insurance information, reviewing patients and guarantors to ensure all necessary documents are populated and signed correctly.
  • Identify and collect co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due account balances, explaining financial requirements to patients in response to billing and insurance questions.
  • Accurately complete and interpret insurance verification and benefits, notifying patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors of network insurance coverage issues.
  • Scan new patient or updated patient information into the computer, including photo ID, insurance cards, referrals, and patient paperwork.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, review patient insurance coverage, and notify patients if services require authorization or referral.
  • Maintain general knowledge of insurance plans accepted by Southeast Orthopedic Specialists.
  • Responsible for maintaining a secure and accurate cash drawer, daily balancing, and closing Batch.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and a clean and organized front office workspace.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
