GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly motivated Housekeeping Assistant to join our team in Milledgeville. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maintaining order, sanitation, and cleanliness in facilities.

About the Role

This role involves performing a variety of tasks to ensure that our facilities are clean and well-maintained. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting, sorting, laundering, transporting, and distributing linens and uniforms. You may also be required to mend linens and assist with preventative maintenance and repair.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. If you have experience working in an institutional or healthcare setting, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and straighten assigned areas
  • Collect, sort, launder, transport, and distribute linens and uniforms
  • Mend linens and assist with preventative maintenance and repair
  • Observe required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse
  • Operate hand tools
  • Participate in making, marking, altering, and mending clothing, linens, and other items
Requirements
  • Experience working in an institutional or healthcare setting (preferred)
  • One or more years of housekeeping experience (desired)
