Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Development Manager to join our team at the Young Adult Learning Center (YALC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with opportunity youth and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Student Development Manager will be responsible for creating a positive culture and climate at the YALC, welcoming new students into the program, and working with students and families to ensure student attendance, retention, and success. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement school culture policies and procedures based on director's guidelines
  • Monitor student movement and culture issues
  • Conduct intake interview and initial assessments
  • Work directly with students, families, and support programs to encourage student attendance at the YALC
  • Place phone calls, conduct home visits, and hold meetings to support students to attend more consistently per the attendance policy
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals as necessary
  • Help to implement and monitor academic, social, or behavioral interventions for individual students
  • Document all efforts in student databases and computer-based platforms
  • Support student recruitment efforts by attending recruitment events/fairs, recruitment-based committees, and meetings, and assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in education or subject-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with opportunity youth required
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a robust benefits package including health care coverage, FSA and HSA offerings, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, student loan refinancing options, and the opportunity to positively impact students with a broad range of experiences and backgrounds.
