Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Roadway Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our roadways team, you will play a critical role in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and designing electrical power and lighting systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and utility companies to coordinate projects.
  • Prepare complete deliverables and documents, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, with minor supervision.
  • Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
  • Handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
  • Manage or take on the technical lead role for lighting and electrical projects.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Design experience in lighting design, energy code compliance, lighting/power circuiting design, renewable energy, emergency power systems, communications systems, fire alarm systems, intelligent transportation systems, construction cost estimating, and specification writing.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of general transportation, buildings, community development, or power construction.
  • Previous experience working with various transportation authorities, such as NJTA, NJDOT, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, or the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, AGI32, and Visual Lighting Software.
  • LC is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related industry experience.
  • PE license required, NY or NJ preferred.

Stantec offers a competitive salary range of $123,700 - $185,600, depending on location and experience.
