Job Summary:

The Auto Body Technician at The Boyd Group is responsible for restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This involves assessing damage, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles while maintaining speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure consistent execution of the WOW plan.
  2. Prepare cost estimates and plan repair work.
  3. Use various tools to repair sections of a vehicle.
  4. Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when necessary.
  5. Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  6. Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts.
  7. Repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
  8. Repair interior parts as needed.
  9. Weld and attach parts in place.
  10. Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint.
  11. Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
  3. Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  4. Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
  5. Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
  6. Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Other Requirements:

  1. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  3. Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  4. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
