Job Overview

The Painting and Decorating Craftsman is responsible for maintaining the cosmetic appearance of our properties, adhering to hotel standards. This role involves performing various tasks such as painting, patching woodwork, and furniture refinishing. The ideal candidate will also assist in other engineering areas as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain complete knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  2. Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
  3. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  4. Perform daily assignments received from the Chief Engineer/Supervisor, reviewing priorities and special projects.
  5. Schedule work according to the preventative maintenance program, coordinating with relevant departments.
Requirements
  1. 2 years of experience as a commercial painter.
  2. Working knowledge of different types of paints and their applications.
  3. Knowledge of wall coverings, stains, and finishes.
  4. Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use, and upkeep of materials and products.
  5. Fluency in job-related English, both verbal and written.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
