About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for acquiring new business from strategically targeted customers or opportunities in industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, Industrial Gas, Fertilizer, Oil & Gas, and Food and Beverage markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop winning strategies to increase or establish business with target accounts
  • Responsible for the development of the sales relationship with each client/prospect in their portfolio at every level from the executive suite, departmental line managers, and in some cases the shop floor operation technicians
  • Pursue strategic purchase agreements with key accounts
  • Form business alliances that equally consider the needs of the alliance partner, as well as Yokogawa, when making critical business decisions
  • Identify key differentiators that position the Yokogawa portfolio of products and solutions in a more advantageous position than competitor products
  • Prepare and develop strategic business plans for target industries and marketing strategies
  • Establish and maintain margin goals through the provision of established list prices, cost estimates and sell price recommendations on projects
  • Make recommendations to bid or not bid opportunities, based upon the probability of attaining the bid and resources required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering or applicable discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five to ten years of complex solution selling sales experience in a YCA targeted or similar industry; at least three years managerial related experience in sales, engineering and/or contract/project management preferred
