Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer for Building Systems

Overview:

Bestlogic Staffing is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to work on building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming and engineering, with experience in DDC projects, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Engineering & Programming:
    • Design and engineer new Direct Digital Control (DDC) projects, including HVAC and integrated systems.
    • Program and install building automation systems, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with design specifications.
    • Update and maintain graphical web interfaces for system monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Troubleshooting & Commissioning:
    • Diagnose and repair issues with HVAC and computer/controller systems, using strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality and integration.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Compile and maintain as-built drawings, closeout documentation, and system records.
    • Ensure systems comply with regulatory standards and design specifications.
  • Collaborative Work:
    • Work independently and as part of a project team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
    • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure customer satisfaction and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
    • A 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.
    • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in programming and five (5) years of experience in building automation systems is required.
  • Certifications & Skills:
    • Tridium AX certification is highly preferred.
    • Experience with temperature control systems (Alerton, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Schneider, Siemens) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with BACnet, DDC, Niagara AX, ALC, Siemens, or Metasys is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Visio, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
