We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at our Negaunee store location. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service, managing cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

About the Job

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and possess basic arithmetic skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
  • Ring up all sales on the cash register accurately and efficiently, handling various types of payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash as needed.
  • Perform daily tasks such as inspecting equipment, reporting any malfunctions, and completing paperwork as required.
  • Assist with receiving and verifying vendor deliveries, controlling merchandise, and managing cash shortages.
Working Conditions

The majority of the work will take place indoors, but occasional outdoor work may be required to maintain the parking lot and gas pumps. You will be exposed to extreme cold temperatures while working in the walk-in cooler and/or freezer. The work environment is generally quiet, but some noise may be present.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales is an asset.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (up to 30 minutes).
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
  • Grasping, reaching, and manipulating objects with hands throughout the day.
