Mass General Brigham, a renowned healthcare organization, seeks an experienced Medical Specialist to join its team in Worcester and Holyoke. As a key member of the Pediatric Cardiology division, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ambulatory and/or inpatient nursing experience, preferably in pediatric cardiology or cardiology. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, along with active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. BLS certification is preferred, while PALS certification is also desirable.

As a Medical Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the medical team to deliver exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing telephone triage and addressing patient electronic portal messages
  • Documenting relevant patient information and interactions in the electronic medical record
  • Facilitating prescription refills and medication prior authorizations
  • Communicating test results to families per the provider's instruction
  • Maintaining a therapeutic care environment for patients and families

You will also assist in coordinating and scheduling patients in the Fetal Care Program and Cardiac Surgery and Catheterization Program, as well as facilitate transitions for adolescents moving to the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program.

Working Conditions

This role involves working in various locations, including MGH main campus and community-based practice sites in eastern, southern, central, and western Massachusetts. Travel may be required based on schedule.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $83,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and employee assistance programs.
