Detroit Medical Center is in search of a Registered Cardiovascular Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks related to cardiac procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts all technical aspects of cardiac interventions under general supervision, adhering to established protocols.
  • Monitors and assesses hemodynamic and physiological parameters during procedures.
  • Records critical waveforms and performs necessary calculations to support patient diagnostics.
  • Maintains medical equipment and manages supply inventories effectively.
  • Prepares patients for procedures and provides ongoing monitoring of their condition.
  • Assists in basic and advanced life support measures as needed.
  • Serves as a resource for staff regarding hemodynamic monitoring systems and their operation.
  • Analyzes current hemodynamic system operations, recommending improvements to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Operates specialized imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Collects and maintains accurate patient records and examination data.
  • Engages in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications

1. An Associate's degree in Science with a focus on Cardiovascular Technology or completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program.

2. Registration with the National Board of Cardiovascular Testing (RCIS or RCES) or ARRT certification in Cardiac/Interventional Radiology.

3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as applicable.

5. A minimum of one year of experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Peripheral Vascular, or Electrophysiology Lab settings.

6. Proven experience in quality improvement processes and metrics assessment.
