Role Overview

The Fabrication Associate plays a vital role in our manufacturing process by creating finished products based on drawings and material cut lists provided by the Manufacturing Project Manager.


Responsibilities
  • Tack materials together and verify layout accuracy based on drawings, then finish welds to create a finished product.
  • Utilize knowledge of blueprints and sketches to interpret instructions given verbally or in written form.
  • Read tape measures and gauges to determine type of materials according to specifications.
  • Perform complex mathematical calculations for shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents, and fractions to decimal equivalents.
  • Layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.
  • Operate fabricating machines and possess knowledge of air/hand tools.
  • Inspect parts for accuracy and consistently produce high-quality products.
  • Additional projects may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year's fabrication experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with machinery, tools, gauging, and fabrication is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are crucial.
  • The ability to solve problems effectively is vital.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proven experience with quality control analysis is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of math and geometry is mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities are necessary.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to build strong relationships are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and inventory systems is necessary. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, twist, stand for extended periods, climb, push, pull, carry, reach for items, and endure frequent exposure to outside weather conditions is also required.
  • Passing a background check, MVR check, and drug test where required is necessary.

Estimated Salary Range

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
