Position Overview

The role of the Plant Technical Services Manager involves collaborating closely with the management team at designated facilities to enhance the quality and efficiency of plant operations while spearheading process enhancement initiatives. This position is pivotal in diagnosing and addressing process requirements to uphold quality, reliability, and production targets, ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards for all team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of manufacturing workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies.
  • Formulate and execute strategies aimed at process optimization, with an emphasis on waste reduction and productivity enhancement.
  • Employ statistical tools and methodologies to assess and monitor process performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement projects throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Identify, define, and lead initiatives at the assigned location designed to reduce overall costs while improving safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Cultivate and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities at the site to ensure the delivery of superior products that align with customer expectations and standards, while managing enhancements to the site’s quality management system.

Expectations for This Role

  • Responsible for managing professional staff and/or supervisors or overseeing large, intricate technical or business support or production operations teams.
  • Accountable for the performance and outcomes of a team within their specific discipline or function.
  • Adjust departmental plans and priorities to meet resource and operational challenges.
  • Decisions are informed by policies, procedures, and business plans, with guidance from senior management.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or clients.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or Yellow/Green/Black Belt is advantageous.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Must be capable of standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate in both plant and office settings.
  • Working conditions may involve exposure to dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces.
