Job Summary

The Instructional Specialist provides instructional and operational support services for course delivery in the electrical and smart manufacturing labs associated with the School of Engineering Technology. This role involves assisting students with projects and utilizing Industry 4.0, AC and DC electrical power and signaling, digital systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, networking, manufacturing, and mechanical skills to provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students in the school's formal instructional labs for Electrical Engineering Technology and undergraduate courses in ECET.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional and operational support services for course delivery in the electrical and smart manufacturing labs.
  • Assist students with projects and provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students in the school's formal instructional labs.
  • Utilize Industry 4.0, AC and DC electrical power and signaling, digital systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, networking, manufacturing, and mechanical skills to support course delivery and student projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) plus years of industry-related prior experience with manufacturing systems, processes, hardware, and software, or an equivalent combination of work and education.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Strong initiative with an ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiar with and competent in electrical device construction, programming, software, and data collection processes related to electronics, smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and information technology skills.
