About the Role: Cloud Security Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to focus on building and refining our cloud infrastructure security and detection & response capabilities. As a key member of our team, you'll help secure our AWS environment, ensure proper monitoring, and implement response strategies for emerging threats.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Secure AWS Environment: Implement best practices for IAM, VPC configuration, and security monitoring to safeguard our cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Teams: Work closely with cloud platform teams to identify vulnerabilities and secure infrastructure against internal and external threats.
  • Build Security Controls: Develop and automate security controls across cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to prevent potential breaches.
  • Develop Incident Response Processes: Create and maintain incident detection and response processes to quickly identify and mitigate security threats.
  • Implement SIEM Tools: Utilize SIEM tools to track logs, monitor cloud resource activity, and proactively identify issues to ensure our cloud environment remains secure.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers: Mentor junior engineers and foster security awareness across the company to promote a culture of security.
  • Conduct Vulnerability Scans: Regularly conduct vulnerability scans, security reviews, and assessments of AWS and cloud services to ensure our infrastructure remains secure.
  • Support Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with development teams to support regulatory compliance requirements (SOC2, ISO), ensuring security controls are implemented in the infrastructure.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tools like Kubernetes to 'shift left' and build security into the develop/build/release process.
  • Proficiency in AWS security best practices, including IAM, CloudTrail, VPC, and security groups.
  • Experience with SIEM and cloud monitoring tools, as well as detection techniques (e.g., SAST, DAST) and incident response.
  • Ability to automate security tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud security automation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with engineering teams and collaborate in a sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond, including submitting fixes and supporting teams directly when needed.
  • A competitive salary of $**150,000 - $180,000 per year**, commensurate with experience.
