Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital plays a vital role in advancing the art and science of nursing through evidence-based practice and expert consultation. This position requires a Master's prepared nurse with advanced education and training in a specialized area of nursing.
The CNS integrates care across the continuum and through three spheres of impact: direct patient care, nurses/nursing personnel, and organizations/systems. The primary goal of the CNS is to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care that achieves optimal patient, nurse, and organizational outcomes.
In this role, the CNS identifies gaps in healthcare delivery, designs and implements interventions, and evaluates their effectiveness. They provide expertise and support to nurses caring for patients and drive practice changes throughout the organization.
The CNS partners with RNs, leaders, healthcare providers, quality and education partners, and staff to achieve these outcomes. This CNS will support the Inpatient Units K4 and K5, with a requirement for night and weekend shifts.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing
- Five (5) years of clinical experience
- Certification in specialty area required within 1 year of hire date
Compensation:
