Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Soliant in Denver, CO. As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and social success by addressing their speech and language needs within the school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students. Utilize a range of diagnostic tools and observational methods to gather comprehensive data.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the educational team, including teachers, school counselors, and parents. Set clear, achievable goals for each student's speech and language development and design personalized intervention strategies to meet those goals.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct therapy services to students to address articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and social communication skills. Use evidence-based practices and customized therapeutic activities to support individual needs and enhance classroom engagement.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to integrate therapy goals into daily classroom activities and support students' communication needs. Offer guidance and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans. Prepare detailed reports for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school evaluations, ensuring all documentation is thorough and meets regulatory standards.
  • Family and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies to support communication development at home. Participate in school and community events to raise awareness of speech and language development and advocate for students' needs.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology. Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Colorado. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working in a school setting or with children is highly desirable. New graduates with strong clinical training and a passion for educational settings are also encouraged to apply.
  • Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively. Empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting students' development and success in the school environment.
