Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Surgical Recovery Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing individualized care to patients recovering from surgery, performing comprehensive assessments, managing treatments, and educating patients on their recovery process.

About the Role

As a Surgical Recovery Nurse Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care. Your expertise will be essential in identifying patient needs, developing effective care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time frame, utilizing observation, communication, and examination skills
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, addressing patient needs, nursing diagnoses, standards of care, interventions, and attainable outcomes
  • Provide education to patients and families on post-operative care, wound management, pain control, and other relevant topics
  • Administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Document accurately and timely, maintaining accurate records and reports
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • A valid Tennessee nursing license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
  • Specialty certifications as required by the department (e.g., ACLS, PALS)

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
