Travel RN Specialist for Long Term Acute Care

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is a Joint Commission-certified provider of temporary and contract staffing services. As a long term acute care registered nurse, you will be responsible for caring for patients who require extended medical care.

As a long term acute care registered nurse, you will be working with patients who require extended medical care. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, educating patients and families on surgical processes and how to manage their illness/injury, and monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients.
You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. Your duties will include:
- Providing care for 5-6 patients
- Adjusting and performing in a fast-paced environment
- Keeping up with many admissions and discharges
- Monitoring and administering medications (orally, subcutaneously, and through an IV)
- Educating patients and family on surgical processes and how to manage their illness/injury
- Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients, and recording and interpreting electronic displays
- Interpreting and understanding telemetry readings, notifying appropriate medical team members of any irregularities
- Performing the duties required of a registered nurse at all times
- Caring for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib
- Using computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information
- Starting IV's, drawing blood, seeing the patient from start to finish
