Behavioral Health Admissions Nurse Specialist

At Mount Carmel Behavioral Health, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our admissions team. As an Admissions RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients.
About the RoleThis position requires a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and ensuring seamless admissions processes. You will be responsible for reviewing medical documentation, completing medication reconciliation, and obtaining admission orders from physicians. Additionally, you will facilitate emergency transfers, review referrals, and respond to inquiries about our facility.
Responsibilities- Medical Documentation Review: Review medical documentation for all admissions, complete medication reconciliation, and obtain admission orders from physicians.
- Emergency Transfers: Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.
- Referral Review: Review referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community agencies, assessing medical and behavioral acuity and responding within designated timeframes.
- Patient Inquiries: Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing appropriate recommendations and information.
- Clinical Assessments: Conduct assessments to determine the appropriate level of care within our facility.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
- Admissions Process: Facilitate the admissions process, including assessment, consent, and inventory of patient belongings.
- Insurance Verification: Perform insurance benefit verifications and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor patient status throughout the admissions process, following facility policies and physician orders.
- Nursing Degree: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the relevant area of specialty for the hiring facility.
- Licenses/Certifications: Clear and active nursing license in the state, CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility), and First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $65-$75 per hour, recently increased, and sign-on bonuses for FT NIGHT and FT DAYS RNs. Additionally, we provide tuition reimbursement, a new facility, excellent training program, and professional growth opportunities. Available shifts include 12-hour shifts, working every other weekend, with NIGHT shift 7p-7:30a and DAYS shift 7a-7:30p.
