Job Description and Duties

At Department of General Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer II to join our Facilities Management Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising daily building and engineering operations, maintenance, special projects, and repairs of building systems, including heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems, auxiliary electrical plants, and other mechanical and power equipment in State-owned and occupied buildings, in accordance with FMD guidelines and manuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of engineering staff and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and repair programs to ensure the efficient operation of building systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and prioritize capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with FMD guidelines, manuals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other departments as needed.

  • Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certificate.
