Job Summary

The Student Conservation Association is seeking a Wildland Fire Conservation Specialist to join the Alaska Female Fire Corps team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in wildland fire management, ecology, and conservation.

About the Job

This 14-week position will provide direct mentorship and training from National Park Service partners. You will work alongside experienced professionals to complete fuels reduction service work, network with experts in the field, and obtain your Red Card certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete 10-12 weeks of fuels reduction service work
  • Network with professionals in Wildland Fire
  • Obtain Red Card certification
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or a veteran aged 35 or younger. You must also be a citizen or national of the United States or a lawful permanent resident alien.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $32,000 - $40,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive living accommodations, meals, and access to AmeriCorps benefits.
