Project Engineer

At GHD, we're seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team of transportation experts. As a key member of our engineering design organization, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a significant impact within our organization and the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing technical guidance and project oversight on various engineering projects, with a focus on transportation systems such as highways, roadways, trails, and more.
- Leading and supporting the production of complex engineering designs, drawings, details, and specifications.
- Assisting project managers in developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality plans.
- Leading and supporting cohesive project teams, including subconsultants, to achieve project objectives, promoting collaboration, and creating a positive work environment.
- Coaching and mentoring graduate staff, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Actively engaging in community and professional organizations, representing our company and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
Requirements:
- Strong foundation and proficiency across multiple software design platforms, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Experience with local agency, state, and federally funded transportation projects administered by Caltrans.
- Ability to support and grow relationships/business in transportation and other sectors within the US West Region.
- Capability to provide mentorship to staff within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment and knowledge with staff and peers.
- Proven professional judgment and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely convey complex issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Within one year, becoming Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California.
- 4+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & municipal engineering, including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus.
