Senior Research Analyst

The Senior Research Analyst role collaborates closely with the research team to assist brokers on research needs, produce recurring or custom research content, and manage data collection and database integrity. This position reports to either the Research Manager, Southeast, or the Head of Southeast Research, overseeing research duties across markets in the Southeast region, including Texas to Florida, with a specialized focus on Florida markets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing procedures for acquiring, entering, and verifying real estate market data related to properties, listings, tenants, and comparable transactions.
- Maintaining market data integrity used in the research function, ensuring accurate data collection, input, verification, and review by salespeople.
- Addressing issues of data quality and maintaining a policy of data security within and outside the office.
- Responsible for aggregating, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting market research data through internal and external sources.
- Collaborating with associates to address their research needs and formulating text and graphics for regular market information reports.
- Monitoring research capabilities of local market competition.
- Understands all software programs used within the research function.
- Researches and recommends new programs for the maintenance of research information.
- Participates in evaluating new sources and existing products.
- Thorough knowledge of all operations performed by staff members of the client services function and may assist in training new staff.
- Assists in training interns and brokers/sales staff in Company software programs.
- Promotes the research function and its capabilities to the brokers/sales staff.
- Complies with Corporate mandates of reporting appropriate market statistics to corporate personnel and works with Corporate Research staff to obtain answers to research questions.
- Cordinates requests and responses between the local office and Company resources.
- Maintains the research reference library, including periodicals, reference publications, reference software, plat maps, property brochure files, and research files.
- Researches and recommends new subscriptions and provides input on subscriptions where applicable.
- Attends all divisional specialty meetings and presents relative research activities.
- Conducts and executes web searches for pertinent data and information related to research and analysis of local, regional, and national trends that influence the commercial real estate market.
- Mentor, trains, and coaches more junior research staff members.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, or Business Administration, with at least 4 years of relevant working experience. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to identify trends and create reports. Experience with data entry, database management, Excel, PowerPoint, CoStar, and other commercial real estate research tools is highly valued.
Newmark offers a competitive salary range of approximately $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
