Job Summary

As a retail pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders for medications using pharmacy information systems
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy
  • Adjust dosages based on established protocols for each drug
  • Educate patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications
  • Manage narcotics and inventory control and compliance
  • Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining the pharmacy's accreditation and implementing operational changes
Requirements
  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active Maine pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2+ years experience preferred
  • Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals
  • Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
