Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and manage accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting requirements
  • Direct accounting, financial reporting, and analysis, inventory control, and auditing
  • Assist with long-range financial planning and analysis
  • Plan and assist auditors with audits
  • Review accounting policies and procedures and recommend changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate overall accounting activities
  • Study present accounting practices to ensure conformance with established policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related fields and/or CPA
  • Valid California Class C driver's license or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Direct experience managing audits
  • Knowledge of principles, procedures, and techniques of municipal utility finance, accounting, management information systems, utility regulations, codes, and policies
