Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Rhythm Specialist to join our team. As a Monitor Tech, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac rhythms and rhythm components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and review patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.
  • Demonstrate competency in telemetry lead placement for accurate cardiac rhythm analysis.
  • Analyze cardiac rhythm and record measurements, calculations, and interpretation of patient record in accordance with established protocols.
  • Notify Registered Nurse of cardiac rhythm or rhythm component changes and follow current escalation protocol.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the technical operation of the central monitoring station.
  • Maintain/check high and low alarm settings on every telemetry patient each shift.
  • Give/accept shift reports to provide current patient information.
  • Work with assigned nursing personnel to coordinate initiation and discontinuation of telemetry.
  • Identify and troubleshoot routine technical problems with the central monitoring system and initiate biomedical repairs as necessary.
  • Advance own current knowledge of cardiac rhythm analysis and interpretation.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and sensitive data at all times.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Monitor Technician with prior related experience and has passed an ECG competency assessment.
  • Monitor technician without previous related experience must take Orlando Health's basic ECG course and complete the Rhythm Test within 60 days with a pass rate of 84% or higher.
  • BLS/Health Care provider certification required.
