Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Summer Camp Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various camp programs, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and ensuring the well-being of participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with campers, volunteers, members, and colleagues at all levels of the organization;
• Implements energizing, fun, safe, and educational programs in accordance with YMCA guidelines;
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies, assists with ordering, and ensures proper attendance and records;
• Follows all Camp procedures and guidelines, including those pertaining to health and safety, camper supervision, and staff expectations;
• Serves as an ambassador for all YMCA programs with a focus on Camp programs, schedules, and member engagement;
• Maintains physical presence, remains alert at all times while on duty, and is aware of camp surroundings;
• Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately;
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred;
• At least one (1) year of experience in implementing camp programs preferred;
• Current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration required;
• Ability to work with school-age children, teens, and peers;
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills;
• Good role model with high integrity and adaptability;
Benefits:
We offer competitive compensation, including a salary range of $$$$50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
The estimated salary is based on the title, job description, and location. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families in our community.
