Job Description and Duties

Under the close supervision of the Administrator I, within the Accounts Payable Unit, the Accountant Trainee performs professional accounting work, such as researching, analyzing, monitoring, establishing and maintaining of accounts and financial records. In addition, the incumbent maintains working relationships with Franchise Tax Board (FTB) personnel, vendors, contractors, and state control agencies to facilitate the accounts payable process needed by internal management and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with FTB personnel, vendors, contractors, and state control agencies.
  • Facilitate the accounts payable process to meet internal management and departmental needs.
Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
