About the RoleAs an ES Clerk II at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will provide various clerical support services in a service delivery office. You will work closely with Eligibility Operations staff, processing mail, opening and dating incoming applications and supporting documents.
You will review applications for required signatures, dates, and supporting documents, log applications, and assign complete applications for processing. You will also return incomplete applications to clients and assist with completion when necessary/requested.
This role requires attention to detail and the ability to apply complex policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule, performs other duties as assigned, and prepares correspondence and forms using a personal computer.
- Communicates with others to provide information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve/report problems or complaints.
- Maintains records, files, and logs, including filing, retrieving, or purging.
- Batches forms prior to data entry, assembles materials into packets, screens, codes, corrects, and data enters documents.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A strong understanding of internet usage and computers.
- The ability to listen to clients, elicit, relate, and evaluate information; and interpret terms as needed.
- The ability to complete required work within specified deadlines.
- The ability to read, understand, and apply a variety of interrelated instructions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to establish rapport with and relate to clients.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience. This role requires occasional overtime, flexibility to work weekends when called upon, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
