Welding Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain welding and wire direct energy deposition additive processes, focusing on technology, personnel, and process qualifications, requiring strong problem-solving abilities.
• Oversight of third-party program accreditation and advancement of technology.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science with a focus on welding processes preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Weld Engineer or in applicable additive manufacturing research.

• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining a certified welding program.
• Intermediate understanding of physical metallurgy principles related to welding, metalworking, and heat treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical expertise in Weld Engineering, Physical Metallurgy, Heat Treatment Principles, Mechanical Testing, Microstructural Interpretation, Failure Analysis, NDE, and industry/customer specifications.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with welding automation and robotics.
• Experience in additive manufacturing techniques (Direct Energy Deposition, Friction Stir Welding, Electron Beam Welding).
• AWS Certified Weld Inspector certification.
