About the Role

As a skilled Mobile Engineer at CBRE, you will be responsible for performing complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, building systems, and equipment within a geographical area or route. This role requires advanced skills in various trade areas, including welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

You will work under limited supervision, applying your expertise to troubleshoot and repair buildings and installed systems, including plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shops, and HVAC/R. Your duties will also include inspecting new installations for compliance with building codes and safety laws, as well as overseeing and inspecting the work performed by outside contractors.

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility in scheduling. You will be responsible for maintaining the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements, and performing grounds maintenance tasks such as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, or snow removal.

What You'll Do

  • Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs, and order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders and track completion.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems.
  • Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety laws.
  • Inspect building systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by clients.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Perform furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed.
  • Report and communicate daily all work activity via a PDA device.

What You'll Need

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
  • Necessary skills to functionally operate a full-size van/truck.
  • Licensure as required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Universal CFC certification.
  • Excellent social skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Ability to use a computer and/or PDA for work order systems, email, and training.
