Community Impact Coordinator

The Community Impact Coordinator plays a vital role at Chicago Youth Centers, serving over 3,000 children and families each year.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their communities.
About the JobWe are seeking an experienced Custodian/Facilities Specialist/Driver to provide daily cleaning and maintenance of assigned sites and grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily tasks such as cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture, emptying waste baskets, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors, and checking hand soap, paper towels, and tissue dispensers.
In addition, the candidate will be required to replace light bulbs, clean baseboards, air vents, and light fixtures, strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and finish to hard surface floors, vacuum, shampoo carpets, pressure wash walls, and monitor and report needs for building or equipment repairs.
The Driving Responsibilities section includes picking up youth from various community schools, delivering them to the Center, working with the Program Manager to create a transportation schedule, establishing relationships with school personnel, managing the cleanliness of vans weekly, monitoring the vans for routine and emergency maintenance, and repairing them when necessary.
Requirements- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1-2 years of related experience in cleaning and maintenance is preferred.
- A valid Illinois driver's license is required.
- Candidates must pass a DMV and criminal background check.
- Ability to climb ladders is essential.
- Ability to travel between various CYC sites is also required.
- Skill in using cleaning products and equipment is necessary.
- Taking classes in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, and maintaining certifications is beneficial.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Bilingual language ability (Spanish-speaking) is a bonus.
- Knowledge of health, fire, and safety codes is required.
The estimated salary for this position is $20.00 per hour.
