We are seeking a skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our team at Labcorp in McKinney, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages, collecting blood samples and other specimens for laboratory testing.

About the Job

">
  • Collect blood samples by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a phlebotomist, minimum 1 year preferred.
  • Pediatric - Geriatric patient experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Benefits and Salary

In addition to a competitive salary, $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience, Labcorp offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
