About the Role:

The Chefs of Maine are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at The Grange at Longwoods Farm. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the kitchen operations, menus, and culinary programs that align with our farm-to-table concept.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and supply chain development.
  • Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and service.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local farmers, suppliers, and distributors to source high-quality ingredients and products.
  • Collaborate with the tenant farmer to develop a crop plan that supports our farm-to-table philosophy.
  • Manage kitchen budgets, finances, and inventory to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of kitchen staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with culinary trends, techniques, and best practices to continuously improve our menu offerings and kitchen operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of farm-to-table cuisine and local food systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions to drive business growth and profitability.
