**Job Overview

We're seeking an exceptional Gameplay Systems Developer to join our live team at thatgamecompany. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in crafting the most advanced social game on earth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement complex gameplay systems and features.
  • Collaborate with designers and back-end engineers to develop real-time and asynchronous features.
  • Design, write, debug, and refine networked gameplay systems and features.
  • Analyze testing feedback and iterate quickly to improve gameplay experiences.
  • Provide technical insights and ideas regarding game design.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant programming experience in the game industry.
  • Excellent 3D Vector Math Skills.
  • Knowledge and usage of a 3D art tool such as Maya.
  • Experience building gameplay systems/building blocks for designers to author content.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and solve problems presented by the team.
  • Fluency in C, C++, or C# and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with scripting languages and multiple data formats (LUA, JSON etc).
  • MMO experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Python programming.
  • Backend languages such as Go, Erlang and/or PL/SQL.
  • Systems managing persistent account data.
  • Synchronous multiplayer features.
  • Live service multiplayer online games.
  • Mobile games.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $49,530 USD to $149,243 USD annually, with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices. Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company's standard employee benefit programs, which currently include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off.
