Job Description

We seek a talented Front-End Developer to join our team in the Museum Experience and Digital Media Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining digital products that enhance the visitor experience, including websites, mobile apps, and other interactive experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop front-end code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue or similar frameworks
  • Ensure compatibility with WCAG standards and advocate for enhanced accessibility of all digital products
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to iterate and refine new and existing products through wireframing, prototyping, coding, testing, launch, and maintenance
  • Participate in sprint-planning meetings, stand-ups, project reviews, and retrospectives as part of an Agile scrum team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority issues affecting live sites and applications
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience working as a front-end developer
  • 3+ years experience working in a scrum environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading-edge HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated knowledge of front-end accessibility standards and site performance optimization
  • Experience building lightweight, responsive layouts in collaboration with UX Designers
  • An understanding of storing and using assets (e.g., photos, audio and video files) in digital products
  • An understanding of asynchronous request handling and Single Page Application or Progressive Web Application architecture
Salary

The salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
