Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead our commercial construction projects from conception to completion. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while successfully managing projects to meet safety, scheduling, profitability, quality, and client satisfaction goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand owner contract language to identify key risk areas and manage accordingly
  • Set budgets and profit goals for management review
  • Lead the process of selecting subcontractors and suppliers for each project
  • Lead team meetings to track project progress during the preconstruction and construction phases
  • Develop and implement a master project schedule
  • Identify key schedule milestones and report any deviations or anticipated missed milestones to management
  • Lead the review and approval of submittal and shop drawing processes
  • Collaborate with the superintendent on safety planning, including site logistics, equipment, and unique aspects of the job
  • Provide oversight and guidance to team members, ensuring accountability for their processes and procedures
  • Communicate and report to clients and key stakeholders, adhering to contract requirements
  • Identify potential areas of risk at early signs and report/manage accordingly
  • Lead team-building efforts to mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including erosion control, dust control, and noise ordinances
  • Facilitate an accurate, timely, and organized process for receiving, distributing, estimating, and tracking scope changes
  • Ensure timely reporting of cost and time claims to clients
  • Coordinate and track phases of work and interim substantial completion deadlines throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records, including correspondence, drawings, specs, change documents, and as-built records
  • Create accurate forecasts for revenue and update monthly for reporting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred); relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered
  • 7+ years of experience managing commercial or light industrial construction projects
  • Broad knowledge of building systems and construction methods
