Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Appraiser Specialist to join our team at Michigan Farm Bureau. As an Inside Auto Appraiser, you will play a crucial role in providing efficient appraisal and settlement of automobile physical damage losses while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

This is a hybrid position that requires working both remotely and from our Farm Bureau Home Office in Lansing, Michigan, one day per week. As an Automotive Appraiser Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Completing or reviewing auto repair estimates and appraisals for physical damage losses to motor vehicles.
  • Writing or reviewing damage estimates and appraisals in conjunction with current industry repair practices and pricing.
  • Providing quality service to customers and aiding in the retention of business.
  • Maintaining general knowledge of all physical damage contracts written by our companies, their various endorsements, exclusions, company procedures, and accepted claim practices.
  • Maintaining general knowledge of automobile damage causation, repairs, procedures, and accepted repair practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one to three years of experience in the collision repair industry or insurance claim handling.
  • Experience using auto estimating software such as CCC Pathways, Audatex, Mitchell.
