About the Role:

Belay Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our intel team. As a key member of our team, you will work directly with CNMF operators and analysts to learn their mission and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to software shortcomings reported by users of existing applications and implement fixes without requiring user input.
  • Gather requirements and rapidly develop new prototype tools/solutions that help customers do their jobs more efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand the CNMF mission and automate workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing DAT and AIMASSIST capabilities for our new customer and successfully communicate with and integrate with those teams.
  • Implement features effectively across multiple code bases and establish customer rapport, communication cadence, and means of prioritization.

Requirements:

  • TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph.
  • 12 yrs., B.S. or 10 yrs. w/ M.S., 4 yrs. of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Courageous personality unafraid to ask questions, get answers, and deliver.
  • Excellent communication skills, motivated first and foremost by mission impact and seeing what you build be used.
  • Passion for user experience and maintaining quality as your user base grows.
  • Experience building amazing user interfaces (particularly with React and Next.JS).
  • Knowledge of modern middleware frameworks (comfort using something along the lines of Express, Flask, Spring, FastAPI, etc.).
  • Comfort with basic computer administration including software installation, system configuration, and networking.
  • Comfort with git and automated build pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).

Preferred Skills:

  • Passion for observability (Elastic, APM, Grafana, etc.).
  • Experience integrating software with a Large Language Model (LLM).
  • Experience with retrieval-agumented generation (RAG).
  • Production-grade software development experience with Python.
  • Service containerization and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes or Swarm.
  • Experience building prototypes and understanding the value of frequent iterations and user feedback.
  • Previous experience working with CNO, USCC, CNMF, or some form of cybersecurity-related past.
  • Experience with any of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Redis, Kafka, Nginx, AWS, HAProxy.
  • Experience integrating open-source models and technologies.
  • Excellent Jira hygiene.
