Ultrasound Technologist MFM Specialist

As an Ultrasound Technologist MFM at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will be responsible for performing all types of ultrasound exams on perinatal patients for diagnostic purposes. You will optimally operate various types of ultrasound equipment, exercising independent judgment to determine which views are necessary for correct diagnosing purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Images and measures appropriately, performing all types of exams.
Judges adequacy of image, knowing limitations of exam due to gestational age, fetal position, or patient habitus.
Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy, developing differential diagnosis of findings.
Asks for assistance when needed and informs perinatologists of problems.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality, providing a safe environment for patients.
Checks equipment for optimal set-up, determines correct equipment usage, cleans and disinfects equipment as per Infection Control policies.
Presents case to perinatologist and discusses plan of care.
Ensures delivery of excellent customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Ultrasound technology, Certification in Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
First Trimester Certification, Fetal Medicine Foundation Nuchal Translucency.
2-3 years prior experience required.
Ability to read and concentrate frequently to check accuracy of reports, correspondence, computer records, etc.
Ability to read, understand, analyze and interpret policies and procedures.
Ability to deal with stress of dealing with public, frequent interruptions, and working on more than one task concurrently.
Flexibility to respond to changes in priorities, special project assignments, and emergency situations.
Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to provide effective patient care.
