Job Summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation seeks a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Preschool Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of young children, fostering their social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans to stimulate language, social, and motor skills in children.
  • Instruct children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care, promoting healthy habits from an early age.
  • Alternate periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid overstimulation and fatigue.
  • Help children develop habits of caring for their own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books.
  • Prepare and serve meals and refreshments to children, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
RequirementsKnowledge & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development.
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching required.
  • Appropriate certification (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of individual and group activities designed to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills.
  • Medical appraisal by a licensed physician (within 3 months prior to the first day of work).
  • State police background check and completion of the Safe Environment Program and background check.
  • Child care check.
  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Frequent interaction with young children, parents, and other preschool personnel; must be professional and tactful with all interactions.
  • Responsible for supplies and equipment used to perform work.
