Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team at Ryder System. As a dedicated solo Class A CDL truck driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently to customers in MD, VA, PA, NJ, and occasionally WV.

About the Role

This is a home daily position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, starting at 4:30 PM. You will be driving a three-year-old or newer tractor and navigating routes that require manual transmission operation. The trailer type is 32', 48', and 53' dry van, and equipment includes a manual pallet jack and lift gate.

Responsibilities

  • Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle (9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years)

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $1,300 or more per week, with opportunities for additional earnings through bonus structures. This includes:

  • $0.73 per mile for solo miles
  • $18.00 per stop for solo stops
